Group Demands Inquest Into Handling Of Chibok Girls Abduction

Campaigners calling for the rescue of the over 200 girls abducted by Boko Haram in Chibok, Borno State, have demanded an inquest into the handling of the abduction of the girls over a year ago.

The Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) group made the demand during a commemorative lecture to mark the one year anniversary of efforts to make sure the girls are not forgotten and that they are brought back home.
At the lecture, the Archbishop of Abuja, Cardinal John Onaiyekan, who was the guest speaker, commended the group for their efforts in bringing the sad event to the attention of the world, stressing that the government of Nigeria must find the girls. Chude Jideonwo and Yemi Adamolekun, were part of the panel that discussed the event from different perspectives, making some demands.
The group is also demanding that the report of the presidential committee on the abduction of the girls be made public.
The event ended with a very familiar chant “bring back our girls, now and alive”.
